The Cabbage Patch Kids

Back in 1984, there was a line of dolls called "Cabbage Patch Kids." They were very popular gifts for Christmas that year and I had relatives scouring the state for them...or should I say, "Santa had relatives scouring the North Pole for them?" Anyway, along with their dolls, the girls each received a Cabbage Patch ornament when "Santa," aka Ralph Bretz, a neighbor, made a visit to our house. This is a picture of my dolls holding their ornaments, which they still put on their trees today!

I love this picture! (Despite my mushroom haircut). Now that we're all older, I know we can appreciate all of the gifts you gave us...er....I mean, SANTA gave us, when we were little. I have the best Christmas memories...even those mornings when we argued over who would open the last present. (I mean, when Kristy and Kelly would argue over who would open the last present).

Aww... I just glued the skate back on my CPK ornament! It is only 23 years old, you know! And Aunt H, I just never liked being the first one done with my presents, and I still don't! I hate that Christmas goes so fast!!! I'm sure Grace and Clare will be fighting over the same things one of these days!

Wait...What do you mean that Ralph Bretz came to our house that night? I thought it was really Santa...

I LOVE my Cabbage Patch ornament and now Reese thinks it is HERS.

Well, at least I can make sure that I'M that last to open presents at my house... :)
